About this checklist
An importer selling under its own name or trademark, or an importer or distributor that substantially modifies a product, is treated as the manufacturer. CRA Art. 21
Ticking an item tracks your own progress; it is not a compliance decision. The list does not cover every provision of the CRA. Each item links to the text it comes from.
- Company foundations
- Set these up once, for all your products. Reporting has applied since 11 September 2026.
- Development
- Annex I Part I covers the product itself. Items that start "Where applicable" apply on the basis of your cybersecurity risk assessment; the others always apply.
- After release
- The Annex I Part II duties run from placing on the market to the end of the support period.
EN 40000 is still a draft. The clause references show where the drafts address an item; a draft gives no presumption of conformity.

Showing: Product already on the market before 11 December 2027
A product placed on the market before 11 December 2027 needs to meet the CRA's requirements only if it is substantially modified from that date. Article 14 reporting already applies to it, since 11 September 2026, so only the reporting items are listed here. To check a substantially modified product, choose New product.
For hardware, placing on the market counts per unit, not per model, in the non-binding Blue Guide and Commission FAQ, so new units of an older model placed on the market from 11 December 2027 must comply.
